Safyr® for SAP Master Data Governance (MDG)
Safyr® for SAP MDG is a powerful metadata visualization and discovery technology product that your data analysts and data scientists can use to gain insight into and exploit the data architecture in your own customized SAP MDG systems. This is a critical task for accelerating effective delivery of a wide range of information led projects. You utilise it to speed up the source data discovery process for many projects such as data catalog, data governance, data warehouse, data analytics, master data, data integration, data migration and more.
SAP MDG uses a Data Model paradigm to define the data structures that are to be the subject of its Master Data Governance features. Safyr liberates the metadata for these data models by harvesting the SAP MDG tables that define these models.

Discovery: Locating the source of the useful, business ready metadata in your applications. There is very little of any value in the data system catalog. The useful metadata is in a MDG-specific series of data dictionary tables in SAP.
Scoping and curation: Once the metadata has been located, the next challenge is to find the table or tables necessary for your task and save them for use in other tools and systems. For an MDG system, this will typically be for a one or more MDG Data Models such as Business Partner or Chart of Accounts.
Delivery: The final hurdle is to provision the metadata into other tools and technical formats. These include data catalog and governance solutions such as Collibra, Informatica EDC, Alation, Infogix, ASG and Adaptive as well as data modeling tools such as SAP PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, erwin. Or you might want to use the information in Excel, CSV, XML or JSON formats.

Facts and Features
Comprehensive Discovery Features to Allow Exploration of SAP MDG Metadata
Safyr reveals details of all the tables that make up a SAP MDG Data Model, including any Custom models, or customizations to the standard models. tables).
All the information displayed is drawn from the MDG Data Dictionary tables in SAP, in the language the user chooses. It’s easy to search the tables and to see the numbers of relationships to other tables in the SAP system, and the number of Rows in each table.

Safyr extracts Relationship information to help the user understand how SAP MDG joins tables. Using this information, details of the related tables for a given table can be displayed. In addition, it’s easy to filter out any of the related tables that do not contain data.
