Safyr Trial Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT ARE THE SAMPLE REPOSITORIES PROVIDED WITH THE SAFYR TRIAL?
We provide sample repositories for each of the packages we support (SAP, Salesforce, JDEdwards, PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, Siebel and Microsoft Dynamics AX). We do this because it means you can try Safyr out with real metadata without having to connect to your own instance of your chosen package. It’s not always a 5-minute task to get the necessary pieces in place to be able to access your own system – particularly SAP. So the sample lets you try the features of Safyr easily.
HOW DO I CONNECT TO SAP, JDEDWARDS, PEOPLESOFT, SIEBEL, ORACLE EBS OR MICROSOFT DYNAMICS?
The Safyr trial does not have the extraction capability for a SAP system enabled. We recommend that you try the sample SAP repository first, and if you like that, we can discuss the options for trying Safyr with your own SAP instance.
HOW DO I CONNECT TO SALESFORCE?
You can do this with the Safyr trial. You will need the url of your Salesforce instance, a user id and password and the Token-ID that comes with user. We need the Token-ID because we are connecting to Salesforce via the metadata API. The Safyr Getting Started Guide describes how to connect to Salesforce in detail.
IS THERE ANYTHING THE FULL SAFYR PRODUCT DOES THAT THE TRIAL CANNOT?
Yes.
- The trial only runs for 10 days, whereas the full product can be purchased on a perpetual or rental basis. We can extend this trial period if we both agree that you need more time to evaluate Safyr.
- Apart from the Salesforce interface, the ability to extract from your source package is disabled in the trial. Please see ‘WHAT ARE THE SAMPLE REPOSITORIES PROVIDED WITH THE SAFYR TRIAL?’ above for more on this.
- We disable some of the export formats from Safyr in the trial version.
